I apologize for the length of time between blogs, I get busy and forget that everyone would like to know what is going on around here!
Tetu guests have been thrilled with the walleye fishing this season! The fish are everywhere, and it seems in all depths. We've been using some bottom bouncers and trolling reef runners for the bigger ones. Pike are still a little sluggish and we would hope to start seeing the monsters soon!
Weather here in Canada has been really wet all season, and the rain continues to fall. The water temps are around 62, so it's still cooler than normal as well.
My very best friends finally arrived to Tetu last Sunday and we have had so much fun! It's their first visit and hope it won't be their last! So far, Sarah is leading with a 35 inch pike. Mike Noland from Denver has the largest walleye, but it won't last, as the girls are fishing tomorrow and we hope to beat the boys!
We're heading into the busiest time of the year for us here on the island. Our good friends from Arizona start it off, with a group of 14 flying in next week. We have a few openings left for August, but not many. September is looking good, but would still swing some excellent deals if you are thinking of a fall trip. We're taking reservations through the first week of October and expect some awesome fall fishing!
We have gotten word from the Ontario Power company that they will be closing the dam located right before our landing road through the month of August. The road will be closed Monday through Friday August 6-November 27th during the following hours:
10:00 AM-12:00 PM
2:00PM-4:00 PM
This may affect those of you who are driving back and forth, so please make a note of this. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but it is out of our control.
I hope all of you are enjoying your summer with family and friends. We are so grateful for all of you who have supported Tetu Island Lodge with your reservations this season. With this economy the way it's been, we're so thankful for all the wonderful friends and customers who have visited Tetu!
I'll blog again soon, and thank you for taking the time to read all about Tetu this week!
