July 15
Holy Walleyes! That's about all I can say for the fishing up here this week! I'm telling you, these fish are located everywhere up here right now-I cannot stress enough how many we have seen between 20 and 24 inches, HUNDREDS! We are catching them in about every depth, with bottom bouncers, blades, tipped with minnows and crawlers! Reef runners have done well, with some of the larger ones, and I'd like to mention to you that we have had about THIRTY walleyes over 26 inches caught and released in the past 9 days!!Largest at THIRTY inches, 3 at TWENTY NINE, 8 at TWENTY EIGHT and I can go on and on about the Master Anglers at 26 and 27 inches! Beautiful, healthy and VERY FAT fish are on this wonderful water system and this year it is producing and showing everyone what a FANTASTIC system this is!
Pike are so-so, with a nice 40 inch caught by Sean Smoot, a 39 caught by Mike Schostok and Austin Carlburg a 38 yesterday! 15 Master Angler pike caught and released in the last 9 days.
We've also seen a rise in the numbers and size of the smallmouth, with Dave Felson and Karl Singer getting Masters.
Our July weather is somewhat confusing, it's been quite cool and we're seeing more rain than we would like, but it certainly hasn't hurt the fishing! The water level is dropping a little, but we are still quite high for this time of year.
We finally have the large shuttle boats all running smoothly! Our thanks to all the guests who had to use the smaller boats during the repair time of them.
We're finally getting some calls on some September reservations, we expect it to be a RECORD year with some really big fish caught, with the way the season is going! We'll stay open as long as guests want to fish this fall, so give us a call or an e mail and we'll come up with some great dates and even better pricing!
NOTE TO GUESTS ARRIVING AFTER AUGUST 4th-We have been informed that there will be some construction on the dam located directly before our landing road-this will last until November, and as soon as they pass on the times it will be closed, etc. I will POST THIS ON THE BLOG, or please call us before your trip that we can discuss this with you.
Ten days and counting until my girlfriends and husbands arrive! This will be their first trip to Tetu and I intend to make it a memorable one for all of us! See you soon, Cyndi, Mike, Scott, Becky and Miss Sarah!
Things at TETU are going great, the guests are thrilled with the wonderful fishing we have had and we hope to hear from you soon if you are considering a trip this year! Thanks for taking your important time to read these blogs!
