Tetu Greetings! It's been a beautiful couple of days here on the island. Highs in the low 70s, partly sunny and a light wind! DREAM weather for us and I forget how much nicer your day can look with the sun out the whole time!
We had a really fun couple visit for the first time-Jeff Scoville and Sarah Olson from the cities caught some beauties-42 inch pike, 19 in. smallie, 26 inch walleye! We hope to see the both of you next season! Welcome to the Tetu Family!
Good friends from Intl. Falls are here, Rob and Kathleen Trompeter and their best friends Barb and Bill Byman have really enjoyed their stay. Rob happens to also be in the jewelry business and has always provided me with some nice "bling!"
Our printing friends from Winnipeg brought 12 fun guys this past week, they sure cleaned up on the Masters! Eleven master Angler Awards for just 2 days of fishing! Great job for catching and releasing all these fish! Thanks, Ken! His largest was a nice 41 inch pike the first day.
Jeff Laack and Keith Edleman were here for another stay. These fine gentlemen have been coming for over ten years and we are so grateful for their friendship and visits. They LOVE the smallmouth fishing Tetu has, and Jeff had Masters"16,16,16.5,17,18,18.5 and a TWENTY INCH this trip! Keith had 2 16, 17, 2-18 and 18.5 inch to brag about! They are so fun to have around and they both seem to love our Labs as much as we do! THANKS, GUYS!
Andy Manske and girlfriend Joslyn are doing well, too. Andy had a nice 42 inch and Jos's first Tetu Master was a 38 1/2 inch. Andy is our son Scott's best friend from Mankato, MN. It's great to share this wonderful fishing with our children's friends!
Another thank you to some VIP guests, Duane Perry, Tony and Dr. Light for another visit. These men have also been staying with us for going on 15 years now and we love hosting "the boys!" Duane had a nice 26 1/4 inch and Tony a 26 as well. Stay healthy this winter, guys and we'll see you next year!
Bill Coontz and family are enjoying another visit to Tetu. Bill, Deb and their youngest son Adam have returned as well as Bill's sister, Mary. They also have a very nice young man with them who is a foreign exchange student staying with them this year named Julio who is really enjoying his first Canadian Fishing Trip! It's fun to watch his reaction each day to the Tetu fishing, Sak's food and the crazy weather we are experiencing this season! They will head back to Minneapolis tomorrow and we will see Bill again in a couple of weeks for his annual "men's fall fishing trip!"
We have the new PR man and a photographer who will be taking hundreds of photos for the new brochure and advertising material for 2010 here also. Scott and Pete are super guys and we hope this new relationship and friendship will last for many years to come. Now if I could just convince Scott to remove all my crow's feet, wrinkles and flaws from all the photos! We love their ideas for the future of Tetu and can't wait to share it with all of you! The great company from Minneapolis that prints all our materials is also here, so we should be able to come up with some great ideas this weekend while we are all working together! A HUGE thank you again, to Bill Coontz, Guy Peterson and his awesome company for putting all this together for us! Ed and I love changes, new ideas and all the input from our guests and Tetu friends and we LISTEN to all of you to make this beautiful resort BETTER each year!
One of our favorite guides, Clint (aka MOOSE) has taken a full time job back in Quebec for the local school system. Although we are so happy for he and his family, we will miss him greatly. GOOD LUCK CLINT! Clint has been with Tetu for many years and he is Darryl's brother.
I will be leaving Tetu on Sunday to take my mom back home to the states. Her visit has been about 3 weeks and she is ready to head south again. We love having here here and hope to still see Ed's Mom, Joyce up this year. She had planned to make the trip with my mom but ended up with the flu that prevented the trip. It's been so great to have our daughter Kate here this week for her vacation! We miss her here at Tetu but are so happy for the life she is leading now. Her boss Josh Roundsly and his lovely wife Jan are also here fishing while she is here. Josh owns Thorne Bros in Minneapolis and provides every single piece of tackle Tetu guides use and all of the rods, reels, etc. WE LOVE THORNE BROS!!!!
Have a great week, I will talk to you when I return by Thursday. We are gearing up for a BIG September at Tetu-! Don't forget about the 30% OFF DURING SEPT. 13-16th! We still have 4 cabins available for this GREAT DEAL! Take advantage of this while you can, because we all know Ed, and he doesn't get this generous very often--- HA!
Stay well and thanks for reading up on us and Tetu Island Lodge-
Kathi
