I'm back from the states! I drove my mom back as far as Iowa, where she will stay for a couple of days with Ed's mother until she goes back to Kansas City. It was great having her here with us again at Tetu! I think she finally got her fill of Tetu walleye while she was here!
The weather has finally turned out to be beautiful this past week! Today was a PERFECT Tetu day, with highs in the low 70s. Lows at night are in the mid 50s, so it's a little chilly in the mornings, but that is to be expected for this time of year. The next week looks gorgeous, with sunny days and cooler nights. I'm dreading that first frost, as it will mean the end of all my beautiful flowers and the beginning of the fall. One good thing the frost will bring, and that is the end of these horrible mosquitoes! This the worst year I can remember for them, and I won't be sorry to see them go.
The staff is beginning to see an end to the season. The poor guides have been battling this rain the entire summer and I'm sure they are so happy to see this sunshine this week! Usually by this time of the year all of them are so tan and weather-beaten! The preseason football games always remind me that our fishing season is winding down and will be over soon.
We've really had some nice fish caught and released the past 5 days. Scott Nelson had a nice 43 in. pike, and Guy Peterson had a 40 1/2 pike and a 26+ walleye during his trip. Scott Nelson had a 16 inch bass, John Gardner a 27 walleye-Jeff Taylor-17 and 18 inch bass. Pat McCracken-26 +walleye. John Readyhaugh-26 in walleye. Hunt Williams-35 pike. David Payne-36 1/2 inch pike AND 44 inch muskie. The Sill Family fared well-Mike Sill-26 inch walleye. Doug Sill-38+ pike.
Jarreth Carr-37 inch pike, Don Carr-26+walleye-Adam Carr-27 1/2 inch walleye.
Mike Sullivan-40 inch pike
Ron Anderson-17 1/2 inch bass. Arden Kinnander-40 inch pike.
Sean Butler=37 1/2 inch pike.
J.J. Ramsey and dad, Jim caught a few nice Tetu Masters:
J.J.- 26 inch walleye, 16 inch smallmouth. Jim-26 1/2 walleye and 16 1/2 inch bass. Kevin Gilmore also caught and released a nice pike this afternoon- 40 1/2 inches! We THANK all of these fine sportsmen who have released every single one of these beauties!
Hope all of you have a great week! We're looking forward to hosting our fall fishermen here at Tetu and seeing some nice, record breaking fish come out of this system!
