I don't know what the weather is where YOU are right now, but here at Tetu, it's as close to PERFECT as you can get! Highs daily have been in the 70s, lows in the 50s. Unreal! Where was this in June and July?
Dan and Stacy Beno had a fun trip-Stacy beat Dan (again) on this trip with a walleye only 1/4 inch bigger than Dan's 26! Way to go, girl!
Doc and Sharon Zarrett from Bemidji also had a good trip, their 12th, I think-Sharon had a 45 inch muskie, her first! These two fine people usually make two trips per year with us and we are so grateful to good friends! See you this winter!
John Farley brought his new bride Karen to Tetu last week. Karen LOVED TETU and ended up with a Master Angler of a 26 inch walleye and 35 inch pike. John had a beautiful 27 1/2 inch walleye as well. John and Karen are from New Hampshire and don't mind the long trip to Tetu as John has been coming longer than we have owned the lodge!
Janene Holig brought Adrian Milan for her first trip, and they promised they would be back soom! Ade caught a 26 inch walleye for her Master Angler. Come back anytime, Neen! We love this girl like a daughter, as she and Kate have been friends since their teens!
Bill Coontz and the "boys" were here for another fall trip-Doug Hansen-27 inch walleye and 38 1/2 inch pike. Marty Trepp-36 inch pike- Dan Trepp-36 inch pike and FORTY SIX INCH MUSKIE! Bill also had another 27 inch walleye too. THANKS BOYS we'll see you next Labor Day at Tetu!
Chuck Gerth and daughter, Kim Qualey also had a second trip that fared well. Kim had a 26 walleye, 17 inch smallmouth, 39 inch pike. Chuck had 26,26 and 26 1/2 inch walleyes and 16 and 19 inch bass. The bigger bass was caught casting at shorelunch! Thanks, you two! Good luck this week, Kim! We're thinking about you!
We're happy to host a couple of new groups this week, as well. The Meyers Party from the Chicago area are new to our Tetu Family and we look forward to hosting these father and sons for many years to come! Great guys and alot of fun to have around! The Harold Bonin Party is also new and we hope to report BIG things from these gentlemen! So far, so good! They just arrived last night.
John Kelly and son Jeff have returned with family members. From Colorado, we certainly appreciate all they do for us and the many people they continue to bring to Tetu. We also welcome the Broek Group back, as it's been a couple of years since they have been with us and we're thrilled to have them back.
As we get closer to the end of the season, I take time to reflect on this past year. We , just as all of you, have felt this ever changing economy and I cannot thank all of you enough for your visits, support, and friendship. Our business depends on every single one of you, and we are very grateful to you. Ed and I are trying very hard to continue giving the VERY best we have to offer to you and still, we must try to do so with less money and less staff to do it. We're cutting costs where we can in order to keep this business open and operating during this difficult time. We're grateful to all of you for your loyalty to Tetu and these wonderful staff members. You have all been so generous with the gratuities to our staff! THANK YOU ALL!!
We still have the rest of the month of September to fill, we also have an opening for 4 bear hunts this season. I'm sure you'll enjoy hearing about the wonderful fall fishing, which I will keep you posted here on the blog. Have a great week and take some time for yourself, family and good friends! Let's hope this wonderful weather continues for us! I cannot remember an early September with better temps than we have had these past 2 weeks! LIFE IS GOOD!:)
